Arts & Entertainment – Manawatu Standard – 9 Oct 2015

“If I put out all my artworks that I have done over the years, you would probably think they were from five different artists. I see things in the street, or when I travel and think I want to paint that”.

An excerpt about Jonathan’s artwork, published in the Manawatu Standard by art reporter Carly Thomas reported the following:

Ormrod says he has travelled through Asia over the years and loves the art galleries as well as the temples. “I love to see what inspires people in other countries and hence why my older works are really heavy in the lacquer and the deep reds and black. But I wanted to work something new which is the ink. It’s really light and a breath of fresh air.”

Ormrod is one of those people where you never quite know what he will do next.
